Carson City man not allowed in casinos jailed on probation violation charges

A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of probation violation and misdemeanor violation of bail conditions. Myron Buckley was being held without bail pending a hearing on the felony charge.

According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies with the Special Enforcement Team conducted a business check at a casino in the 1800 block of North Edmonds. Buckley, who officers recognized for having prior entanglements with the law, was seen drinking a beer and playing a slot machine. He informed officers that he is on Parole and Probation and is not allowed to drink alcohol or be inside casinos.

A warrant check on the man confirmed the conditions with Parole and Probation and similar conditions with Alternative Sentencing. He was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, the arrest report states. Dispatch advised that one of his conditions with Alternative Sentencing was not to be in possession of drugs or alcohol. Bail: $3,000 on the misdemeanor charge.

In other arrests:
— A Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 9:04 a.m. in the 3400 block of Otha Street on two counts suspicion of domestic battery, and being an ex-felon failing to register, all misdemeanors.

The victim reported her husband became grossly intoxicated and began to argue with her and her 15-year-old daughter, the arrest report states. The man allegedly hit the woman in the face and arms. The daughter came to the mother's defense and also was hit, the arrest report states. The adult victim had redness and bruising on her face neck and a bump over her right eyebrow.

Deputies found the man passed out in the back bedroom of the home. Bail: $6,347.

— A 25-year-old transient was arrested Thursday, 3 p.m. at the intersection of Marian and Long streets. He faces two misdemeanor warrant charges of failure to appear on traffic violations. Bail: $1,774.

— A 35-year-old man and 25-year-old Carson City woman were arrested Thursday, 11:02 p.m. each on failure to appear warrants. The man was contacted by the Carson CIty Sheriff's Office SET team and was known to be on probation through the Department of Alternative Sentencing.

A warrant check was done by Carson City dispatch which advised arresting officers of a confirmed outstanding warrant out of New River Township Justice Court which said it would extradite.
The woman had a failure to appear warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $740.

— A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 8:57 p.m. at a casino in the 1800 block of North Edmonds on a misdemeanor charge of being an ex-felon failing to register.

Casino security contacted the sheriff's office regarding suspicious activity related to panhandling and drug dealing. Officers checked the man's identity and learned from dispatch that he was an ex-felon. Officers asked him about the residence on Blackrock Court in which the man said he lived. A check at the address confirmed he had not lived there for months. Bail: $242.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
